I’m really puzzled here. Is your goal to try to change some minds, or is your goal to simply insult fellow Freepers? [Leaning Right]

Again, insults and name-calling is not how you win support for your position. In fact, it has the opposite effect. [Hulka, post #112]

Leaning Right, in post #107 you said you "stood by" a URL you linked to that was labeled to be right up front as "gossip" (NYDailyNews' own tag...that's not my tag)

When you repeat "gossip" from a questionable source, guess what that makes you? (A gossiper)

The apostle Paul had words identifying what that was like in his day...idlers...busybodies who talk nonsense... (Letter to Timothy, 1 Tim. 5:13)

Since you, Leaning Right, & Hulka offered up the same Q/comment...jet down another 9 verses in that same chapter in the New Testament...1 Timothy 5:22: Paul advises Timothy to "not share in the sins others."

IoW, at some point, we need to draw a few lines in the sands of our lives: We need to forget about image projecting, forget about protecting our precious worldly reputation, forget about peer pressure...and tell it like it is:

So, no I'm not going to 100% "go along to get along" with gossipers...

1 Samuel 16:7 talks about how man looks @ the outside of a person, but only God sees the inside of a person.

And what I noticed MOST about the bulk of the comments on this thread is that a few dozen freepers decided to judge Gabby Douglas & frame her entire life "narrative" based upon the (lack of) elevation of her arm, the clenchedness of her fist, her facial expression, & the color of her skin.

Some FREEPERs I pinged only commented on the arm; some only on the fist; a few commented on her facial expression; & several linked her with other blacks based upon her skin color alone.

But what they ALL had in common was judgmentalism on some subjective interpretation of something external about Gabby. It's 1 Samuel 16:7 embodied: People who chose to judge Gabby Douglas from the outside...but NOT the inside.

When I see a "pile on" effect, I will when I can stand against it. (There's WAY too much of it culture-wide to ever begin to go on a "crusade" about it.)

But, bottom line, I don't need to "buddy up" with everybody to "win influence" when by buddying up with them converts me into an open participant with their public sins.

I suggest it'd be better for ALL of us to start drawing some public lines in the sand...Democrats/liberals, the mainstream media, Islamic terrorists, political correctness, etc.

And, yes, even occasionally FREEPERs.

Cool, did you even read my posts where I pointed out your error in assessing my position.

Good Lord, seek help.
