Never say never. In close fighting a trained knife fighter can dump ALL of your organs on the floor in two and a half seconds. That is equivalent to a 81 mm mortar.
How long is the knife would be my question. A short pocket style knife is not very useful. Now a Bowie knife is another story. Most people especially women are not trained to use a knife.
I threatened my now ex abusive husband to sew him up in the bed sheet when he went to sleep and take my granny’s cast large cast iron skillet to him if he ever raised his hand to me again, that brought the hand down in a hurry as he knew I would. I got the heck out of Dodge as he was getting worse, and got a divorce I was not going to hang around and be abused or let him abuse our 2 small boys one more day. It was bad enough when it was just verbal abuse, I’d not stand to be physically abused or let him abuse my boys.
