The commercials were actually better than the ceremony.
I watched the latter part of it on a stream without commercials or commentaries, but many of those who watched it on NBC complained about the massive number of commercials.
Neck Remote Unit #2 was visiting and all excited to watch. Mrs Neck joined her. I didn’t; I went to bed and read. They lasted about a 1/2 hour.
This AM I was regaled with endless jokes from the innertubes about how awful were the show and its commercials. There’s an Olympics fan lost.
The opening was PC overload....

The Olympics have outlived their usefulness to the networks and can bankrupt the cities that host them.

They talk too much, their camera angles stink, too many commercials, they talk too much.
Ha. Couldn’t happen to a nicer network.
I have never really been a fan. This year I have actively avoided it.
More were likely watching the more entertaining kitty games.
My wife and daughter, previous devourers of the opening ceremonies, both said “Meh” and skipped it. Apparently they weren’t alone.
What a shame. If sponsors were sharp they would have negotiated viewership guarantees for advertising rates. They should he calling in for their refunds anytime now.
