They got why fax machines are still used wrong. It’s really all legal, verified unmodifiable point to point transmission of data. Very powerful in legal disputes.

Legally, correct me if I am wrong, a fax counts as an original. We use faxes to transfer academic records. It saves a step since we don’t need to make a physical copy for our files. Some schools still want a signed copy with a raised seal imprint which must be mailed at a cost of only a couple of bucks, but then we are always out of stamps!

We are still executing contracts in some European areas the old fashioned way — both parties put ink signatures on a paper agreement. Talk about “old tech.”

Agree. We use one nearly daily where signatures are required on documents.
