The sudden death of a 12-year-old girl in Waukesha, Wisconsin, just hours after receiving the HPV Gardasil vaccine has shocked the girl’s family, and sent local media out asking questions as to how this could happen. Here is a report from WISN 12 News.
Dr. Geoffrey Swain of the local health department was interviewed to give the standard CDC reply, which is similar to almost every other vaccine, stating that severe reactions like this resulting in death are “very rare,” and about “1 out of a million”.
Assuming that there is some data to back up the claim of only “1 out of a million,” how many doses of the HPV vaccine are administered every year? According to the latest statistics (July 2014) published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services here (page 7), over 9 million per year. So the government admits that at least 9 girls per year are killed by the HPV vaccine. How many parents know this prior to taking a doctor’s advice to administer this vaccine that is supposedly a protection against cervical cancer caused by the human papillomavirus, a sexually transmitted disease?
Apparently, when the news broke that 12-year-old Meredith Prohaska died after receiving the HPV vaccine, at least one other parent contacted a local news station in the area to report she also had a serious adverse reaction to the HPV vaccine with her 17-year-old daughter, who needed urgent care at a local hospital. The local news affiliate asked the question: “So what are the odds another local girl had a similar reaction after getting the shot?”

4100 American women a year die from cervical cancer. This vaccine prevents it IF given before they start the boy girl thing.
It shouldn’t ever, under any circumstances be mandatory, but its a good thing.
Of course, ill be flooded with people that say it isn’t fully effective, ignoring that many people miss the window and don’t get it until they are already kissing and making out.
Then we’ll be treated to the “keep your pants up” crowd. There are too many people who ignorantly think its implying that your daughter will be sexually active then they tell us about their daughters being raised right...etc.
Kids kissing spread it just as well.
Basically, if used right, it can prevent death by cervical cancer which some people have had touch their lives. It shouldn’t be mandatory, but its a good development.
12 seems a bit young, and 17 seems a bit old for the shot.

The cervical cancer danger is in girls who are promiscuous.
While some may be, most girls are not having sex with multiple partners, and in any case, we should not have policies which endorse or encourage such behavior.
Anyone know what the risk of cervical cancer is, either as young women, or for them later in life? As with anything else, you have to weigh the risk of the disease with the risk of the vaccine.
Was that girl who died inviting boy after boy into her bedroom, to do God knows what, which would put her at high risk???
Some hard questions should be asked about what we are doing in this area, in my opinion.

Idiot. A perfect Christian girl who never does more than kiss a boy before marriage can get it. A girls who’s first kiss is on her wedding day can get it if her less than pure husband pollinates that flower with something he caught long before he met her.

Good points, plus there’s something many people don’t realize: women who are virgins on their wedding nights can get cervical cancer...and die from it, so the “keep your pants up” argument is not relevant. It has been known for decades that the most common form of cervical cancer is sexually transmitted and that it if you sleep with even just one man who carries the virus, you inevitably will get cervical cancer. I know a woman who was a virgin when she got married (to man who was ten years older than she was). This was fifty years ago, and there was no question the woman had been a virgin when she got married. Eventually she died of cervical cancer. When her husband remarried, he married a woman who had left the convent only a few years before. Eventually, she died of cervical cancer. Both of these women were “good girls”.

I had to tell a lady, who was a virgin until she got married, the she had HPV. She got it from her husband, who had x number of sexual encounters before meeting her.
See my post. You can get cervical cancer from your husband. Cervical cancer is different from other STDs, in that it is very easy for men to catch the virus, but there's nothing to tell them they have it, and no reason for them to worry about it. There are “good girls” who die of cervical cancer.
Except that she actually died of a benadryl overdose, no doubt in an attempt to get high.
