1 dead, 4 injured in separate Austin shootings

(CNN)One person was killed and four were injured early Sunday in two separate shootings in a crowded area of downtown Austin, Texas, police said. The first incident began at 2:17 a.m. local time when police received reports of gunshots, Austin Police Chief of Staff Brian Manley said in a news conference.

He said a woman, believed to be in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three victims -- all women in their 30s -- were taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with gunshot wounds. One additional victim refused treatment.

Police say that there was a disturbance on Sixth Street, a popular nightlife district, where the suspect pulled out a weapon and began firing into the crowd.

The suspect is still at large, police said.

"As officers arrived, as you can imagine, with this being shortly after 2 a.m., and the large crowds we have on Sixth Street at this time, all the individuals leaving the bars, it was a very chaotic scene," Manley said. "A lot of people running in different directions with all the gunshots that were coming out."

The second, unrelated, incident began just seven minutes later. Police got a call about a disturbance at a parking garage just blocks away from the first incident.

"One individual (there) did pull out a weapon and fire it at another individual," Manley said.

Bring back the olden days of Sixth St. Porn shows, and xxx bookstores, a few seedy hotels, and dive bars..

My first thought when hearing of this was “Another terror incident.”

When did we reach the point in this country when that becomes the default?

There is nothing to discount that it wasn't terrorist related and that this Muslim just decided they were not ready to die yet.

But more likely gang-bangers, since they mention another shooter shooting back. That could be someone armed though shooting back to stop the other shooter.

Potential witnesses who were interviewed gave consistent statements. "I never saw nothing, I never heard nothing, or I just barely arrived."

Reality comes to one of America’s most liberal college town.
Get your sling shots and head for the ‘safe’ zones, killers respect them and fear them.

Go back farther than that. Bush was the one who proclaimed Islam to be a great religion and put the Koran in the White House. He also opened the door to thousands of Muslim “refugees” from Iraq. People need to remember how bad Bush was so they don’t vote for another one in the future.

It’s another “happy meal” that comes with the People’s Socialist Kakistocracy of Austin being a “sanctuary city.”

Bush also allowed massive floods of arrivals from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Somalia, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Sudan, Turkey, and every other Islamic hornet’s nest country to come here, hundreds and hundreds of thousands of them, many of them overstaying visas and remaining here permanently, others via chain migration green cards, etc. Bush was a dhimmi traitor.

But more likely gang-bangers,.....

Austin PD says they are looking for a "light-skinned Black or Hispanic male".

"We believe there was a disturbance between individuals and the suspect in the 6th street shootings pulled out a weapon and fired into the crowd".

Police are asking for cell-phone videos of the event.

Absolutely correct. Bush started the whole mess and the Democrats were only too happy to continue and make it worse.

Bush did not start it. He merely continued it.
