Religious Conservatives and Donald Trump — the Cheapest Date in Politics?
National Review ^ | July 29, 2016 | David French

Posted on 07/29/2016 10:58:21 AM PDT by C19fan

Hillary Clinton’s nomination speech at the Democratic National Convention put a capstone on perhaps the worst political week for religious conservatives in living memory. It began a week ago at Republican convention, where one featured speaker mocked the “fake culture wars” and the thrice-married GOP nominee didn’t even deign to mention abortion and confined his support of religious liberty to the right of pastors to politic from the pulpit — hardly the most burning issue of our time.

Mr. French living in My Little Pony political world. Trump is orders of magnitude better for religious conservatives than Hillary. At a minimum, Trump will just leave Traditionalists where everyone know Clinton and her Cultural Marxist allies, incl LGBT, will launch a full blown attack to eliminate Traditionalists from the public square.

No, Monsieur French

The truth is that Religious Conservatives are smart enough to know that if Hillary wins this thing it’s gonna be GAME OVER!

She will pack the courts with Progressive activists, including SCOTUS.

She will import 30+ million new Democrat voters from the third world.

She will force Section 8 housing into every reliably red district.

Trump is not everything they could wish for but he’ll let them live to fight another day.

Literally out of the millions and millions of voters both Democrat and Republican, these RINO goons account for about 10,000 votes. And yet they have kept pushing their candidates so that we had no choice but to vote for their guy (or in the case of the Dems this time...their girl). Those douchebags could vote for Hillary, it wouldn’t make a difference.

I'm not so sure any more that Trump isn't what we all want. Since I have started looking at his stump speeches I'm really impressed by what he says.

I have turned into a Trumpster even though I gave money to the Cruz campaign, I feel he wasted it but now I'm not sure Trump isn't even better. I believe him.

Actually, the cheapest date in the world is the alliance between “conservative” pundits and globalist oppressors. For a little bit of money, they sell out our liberty. At least Esau only sold his own birthright, not everyone else’s.

I see NRO is still trying to split Evangelicals from Trump to join the Chamber of Commerce and the Neo Cons in the Hillary's Better camp.

They thought they had their champion in Ted Cruz but he turned out to be the sniveling pussy that everyone everywhere hates.

Nope. They will not succeed. Evangelicals want an intact nation and 3 Supreme Court justices.

These are 1 dimensional conservatives. They don’t see the forest that while they are focused on minutia is being burnt to the ground or rather taken from underneath their feet. They hate Trump not because he is a liberal which by any real measure he is not at least not more so than Romney, McCain, or GW Bush and where it matters most he’s certainly not a liberal.

The key to this election is border security and national security it is also the key to the future viability of the Republican party and of conservatism itself. If we do not stop the invasion America is lost whether to millions of illegals from the South or importing millions of third world muslims that believe in Sharia the America we know will be over for all respects and purposes. Trump is the only candidate that has been absolutely clear and unwavering on this threat. He also has identified top down “common core” education as a big problem and it is.

Trump at least sees the big picture and he isn’t going for a win on the small ball issues. He’s going for a complete paradigm change. He’s already changed the game where political correctness is concerned and some of these weenie conservatives seem to be upset at that! I’m astounded that these people some who have suffered personally and professionally at the hands of the pc police would behave like those suffering stockholm syndrome embracing the same pc nonsense when it comes to deriding Trump. Its as if they would rather lose than for the first time in forever have a true advantage in the body politic appealing the emotional core of the American voter. Instead they behave as if protecting communist chinese labor and big corporate outsourcing is some how conservative?

I’m very thankful for Trump because he has revealed so clearly the reasons why we have nearly lost America. Its because we have allies who never intended to truly win. They both on the left and right of the Republican spectrum reveal how they were happy if only to obtain a little power or rule a single issue. They never wanted to embrace the very populism that founded this nation. Reading the pamphlets of Thomas Paine it is without question his appeal to the emotional core of the American colonist. He wasn’t giving lectures on constitutional law to put people to sleep but that is how many of these Anti-Trumps envision winning as if the body politic should be reserved for conservative eggheads rather than the American masses.

I could go on but I won’t. I should be happy to see so many of my layman political theories proven out in one election season but it is truly sad to see so many who I thought would understand the beautiful achievement of what is happening now. We have a truly bottom up revolution driving Trump and yet we have these among us who are clinging to the status quo that has derided and abused them like their very lives depend on it.

I’m a Christian conservative and I trust Trump over any of the other Republicans who ran this year. I voted for him. And religious conservative friends of mine all seem to support him too, even when it was clear he wasn’t their first choice. Methinks that long-standing religious conservative (and just conservative) loathing of Hillary Clinton will trump any dislike or distrust of Donald Trump. Trump has brilliantly courted all conservatives by announcing the kind of people he’ll appoint to SCOTUS.

David French and his ilk at the National Review just need to shut up, swallow their pride and support Donald Trump.

The time for try ing to push Trump to the right is the day after election day. Before then, criticism of Trump is just campaigning for Hillary.

Please expose them . I heard John Cornyn from Texas today on radio. His voice was shakey. He was bowing down to Trump ( as he should). He was asked if cruz was total history — He was so nervous in his answer. LET ME HELP YOUR SORRY RINO ASS JOHN. you are half way on your knees. Get all the way down John. Now let me help you with cruz. He is finished . RICK PERRY WILL WIPE HIM OUT!!
