Oh please, a water gun that looks like a little boy going #1= sexual assault? Give me a break.

Anyway, I was just looking for a TN thread to talk about the TN primary results

Scott DesJarlais won renomination in CD-4, defeating Grant Starrett by 52%-43%.

Diane Black crushed Joe Carr in CD-6, 63.6% to 32%.

CD-8 was open, surprise retirement of Stephen Fincher. Former US Attorney David Kustoff is the apparent winner, with just 27% in a huge field.

Check out this story

Hear about that, DJ? LOL. The challenger, Mark Lovell won by a huge margin, 56% to 19% for the incumbent, what was up with this race?

DesJarlais’s win was a relief. Starrett was a lying scumbag who faced expose after expose on a local blog, but ignored by the rest of the media. He painted himself as a successful local real estate developer, but he had no local business and was entirely backrolled by his parents in Southern California trying to buy Sonny a House seat. I expect Dems crossed over to vote for Starrett, why he did as well as he did (though he did outspend DesJarlais).

Joe Carr’s run against Diane Black was ill-advised, as there was no overwhelming sense from the grassroots that she needed to go. With her smashing victory, she is expected to run for Governor in 2 years ostensibly as the standard-bearer for Conservatives. She stands a good chance at becoming TN’s 1st woman Governor.

I went to bed early last night when perennial candidate George Flinn (fortified with a large bankroll) was leading in TN-8. I did not support him, nor Kustoff, a former Dubya U.S. Attorney. The Conservative support was for State Sen. Brian Kelsey. Kustoff is marginally better than Flinn, but I’m not thrilled here.

As for State Rep. Curry Todd in your last link. He’s a sad figure, to be sure. If I remember correctly, Todd had been diagnosed with cancer and later ended up a DUI/Gun charge. He was close to the party establishment and embattled Speaker Beth Harwell, who has embarrassed herself as of late with her war against State Rep. Jeremy Durham, who got himself into a pickle (but no worse than your typical Democrats and their sex scandals, so seeing Dems howl about him while back Hillary is hilarious).

Anyway, Todd was really scraping bottom being caught on camera stealing lawn signs for his opponent. He lost in an epic landslide last night, getting just 18.9% of the vote. The only person who will miss him is Harwell (whom I hope loses her Speakership).
