No I don’t, which is why wondered about this. I know I couldn’t go anywhere the waves might be a problem, and I wasn’t intending to buy this anyway. I just thought it was an interesting concept for the recreational user.

I have to say that I’m relieved. I’ve spent years on the water, mostly fishing, but also on ships. Even on a river or lake, waves and current are a factor. Safety is of the utmost importance.

That’s a good idea before buying.

That’s probably the best advice on this. A lake resort could rent these things out for $100/day and get its money back on it within three years and have another three years where it’s largely profit. People who rent this wouldn’t have the liability of a white elephant that they paid too much for for limited uses.

You know what they say about the two happiest days of a boat owner’s life. I imagine it would apply double for this thing.

Under perfect weather conditions on a lake that does not allow powerboats, just trolling motors, it might be a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. There are a few lakes in parks around here like that. If the wind gets up, it wouldn’t be pleasant. If there are powerboats, it wouldn’t be pleasant either, you’d be rocking and rolling, and likely getting wet. Forget large open water like a bay or very large lake.

My daddy taught me....rent a place and rent a boat by the day if need be...........and you have no maintenance and plenty of bucks in your pocket.

Hawaii, Florida, Virginia, Mexico....We rented fishing boats, lived in hotels and ate as if every meal was our last.

Canada was a little different...cabins with boats and plenty of walleye....still rental. What a life!!

We’ve thought about buying a vacation home on the water, but why pay for something that we’d only use a couple of weeks a year, and have to worry about upkeep and security?

Renting makes much more sense unless you’re out there most weekends. With our bass boat, we can visit rivers and lakes not too far from our house. When we lived north of here, it was more convenient.

They chose “Sealander” because the marketing department vetoed the “Deathtrap” name engineering wanted.

That thing is unsafe in a swimming pool.
