The Beatles’ beloved Abbey Road song “Here Comes the Sun” was played at the 2016 Republican National Convention Thursday as Ivanka Trump took the stage, and late Thursday night, George Harrison’s estate slammed Republican nominee Donald Trump for using the song, calling the act “offensive” and “against the wishes of the George Harrison estate.” (Harrison wrote the track.)
“The unauthorized use of #HereComestheSun at the #RNCinCLE is offensive & against the wishes of the George Harrison estate,” Harrison’s estate’s official Twitter account posted.
The account then followed up and joked that maybe another one of Harrison’s songs would have better suited the Republican National Convention: “If it had been Beware of Darkness, then we MAY have approved it! #TrumpYourself.” (“Beware of Darkness” appears on Harrison’s solo album All Things Must Pass.)

Never heard George make ones single political remark, hell he met with President Ford, and gave him a tie.

A blanket performance license is purchased before performing songs licensed by ASCAP, BMI, and most likely also SESAC.
Performance was licensed and legal.
If the estate of Mr. Harrison wants to complain, they’re out of luck. It was FULLY authorized. Now go somewhere and sit down, liberals.

I am the tail end of the greatest generation. “Donald Trump for using the song, calling the act “offensive”, it seems everything today is offensive to someone. Get skin folks, today’s generation would have never made it through the 30’s and 40’s. Whine, whine, whine, everything is so self centered and easy money driven. Its not like the Trump organization was selling albums for profit. Trump could have used the Civil War song Tramp, tramp, tramp the boys are marching, and turned into Trump Trump Trump, the voters are marching, to the voting booths they will go, etc. etc. parody on! So many non issues from the whiners, it becomes over whelming and annoying.
