What did you think of Trump's speech?

Posted on 07/21/2016 9:17:54 PM PDT by MNDude

Of course we all loved it, but how do you think it'll effect voters?

Independents, anti-Trump Republicans, evangelicals, other needed voting blocks?

Things are lovely for the establishment media heads. Chauffeurs, limos, checking accounts, parties, expensive booze, great health care plans, nice hotels and homes. . .

It was ‘dark’ but for all of the logical reasons

I don't think that was what was meant. It was dark, not in mood or tone, but in the sense that it was "hidden", as emphasized by the transcript highlighting the deviations from the previously released transcript, which were largely if not completely innocuous.

This is what we're in for, folks.

Let us face facts. The Republican Party has done nothing since Reagan to fight for America. They were content to say all of the right things and then to sneak around making bank by selling out and breaking their promises to us, the Republican base. What really frustrates me is how many Stockholm Syndrome Freepers there are. We have been handed nothing but a sh*t sandwich and condescension for three decades and there are still voters that buy the GOPe song and dance. Trump is our chance to get the Republican Party to work for us, not D.C. Yet there are so many Americans that buy their lies and get distracted by the fake culture wars. We all talk shit about the Clintons but I think the Bushes were worse. The Democrats openly promise to divide America and to reward their patrons and it has a certain piratical honesty. When it comes to the Bushes and the GOPe they are worse because they say all the right things and tell us they will make America better and then they stab us in the back - repeatedly and on a grand scale. At least Bill and Hillary take care of their base while they rip off the rest of America. Democrat voters knew what they are getting but Republican voters have been deceived for three decades like a bunch of ignorant farm boys jumping of a turnip wagon in the big city.

I'm so done with McCain, Romney, Ryan, McConnell, and yes, Ted Cruz the narcissistic jerk. I'm so sick of them I could puke and yet we have people on this forum who still back in these two-faced reptiles.

All the fear and loathing of the GOPe at the convention towards Trump and those backing him has nothing to do with Trump or us. Those cretins who have betrayed us are angry that the jig is up and they can't figure out how to fool us one more time and all the richer all is focused on Trump and anyone who is backing.

The prevailing attitude of the top officeholders in the GOP is is that the peasants are revolting. And yes, that means that they think we stink on ice. As a Republican I'm going to do everything I can to prevent those politicians who have been ripping me off for 30 years pay the price and are voted out of office.

Trump is my hammer and I see a lot of nails that need pounding.

Good News! Like others, I was impressed. It was a bit long, but I listened because I like Trump. He knows he may never get another chance like this in his lifetime. Donald put his heart and soul into that speech. For the first time I can recall, he mentioned his own immediate family, his own brothers and sisters. I listened on radio. Don’t know if Donald’s siblings appeared on camera.

“That drove a nail through CNN’s coverage.”

:) I watched the whole CNN deal...they hammered him right after the speech...then the results of the poll and the focus group came in and they switched gear so fast, it would make your head spin.

The CNN focus group of undecided voters, went 9 out of 15 that were more likely to vote.

I cried and moaned a few times too, I must admit.

The MSM jumping on Melania’s speech and then ted being a psycho.

But Trump was incredible. He’ll pick the best and Christie will be a pitbull as AG. Pence is VERY likeable and statesman like. Rudy will probably get a job somewhere. Csar of Police lol

I think he successfully appealed to the blue collar folks who stayed home on Romney, as well as a big part of the Democrat base, especially in the rust belt swing states.

He really seemed like a feasible alternative for Democrats who don’t like Hillary.

I think that he is confident in Republican base voters, and is actively going not only for Independents, but also targeting and welcoming the Democrat base.

If successful - LANDSLIDE!

We will have to see how he stands up to the nuclear smear storm that Hillary will unleash - Anita Hill-like women alleging abuse, a thousand tut-tutting pundits, and mobs of rabid demonstrators. That storm starts tomorrow, builds next week, and drops its main load in September and October.

Unlike most Republicans however, Trump will counter-attack within hours, and pull no punches.

It helps that Hillary is already established in most minds as a liar - it will make it easier to discount her surrogates accusations. Her lack of credibility may disable the only real tool that she has (attacks), because she has no charisma, accomplishments or credible policy proposals.

Refreshing and largely inspiring. But it had some politically correct stuff, too, which I thought was ironic.

The change in the demeanor of the CNN panel after seeing the results of their own snap poll was a sight to behold. You could feel them scratching their head wondering how they had become so out of touch with the average voter.

It’s so pro Trump they still haven’t posted the results on their web site lol.

It made me feel so much better that people aren’t buying their spin. I switched to different networks. ABC wasn’t too bad, but CNN and MSNBC made me feel dejected because I know that there are people who watch the media listen to them. Fox was pro-Trump of course.

Oh - so did I. I was throwing my hand up in the air every few minutes like I was at a revival meeting. Couldn’t seem to help myself, and didn’t want to after the first few times it happened. :)

Seriously!?! Shut my mouth! So did I LOL...I thought I was the only one doing that ;)

“It’s so pro Trump”

The poll was 57% very much more likely...19% somewhat more likely...24% less likely...I think Trump killed it tonight!
