One must always remember that rising tension, distrust
and repression of the whole community is in the best
interests of the insurgent who it will not effect in
the least.

The rising attacks on conservative elements are for
one purpose only, to cause an over reaction and martyrs
for the cause, who can then be held up as heros of the
revolution.

History is ripe with examples.

While I can agree with certain elements of your post, particularly concerning the motivation of these troublemakers, I cannot help but think that this did not work out too well for them in 1968. The unrest that year was far greater van anything that we have seen this year, and Nixon’s Silent Majority came out and denied the choice of the troublemakers for the presidency.

Also, while it is true that a lot of the Silent Majority of 48 years ago is dead and gone, people still value stability and peace in their lives. You will see a tremendous number of people coming out to vote for Trump this year, for the simple reason that he represents a return to stability. All that this violence, and threats to violence, do is to scare the hell out of the average person. In this way, the troublemakers are the cause of their own undoing. Let them riot, they are tightening the noose around their own necks.
