Wasn’t this just a distraction from the 9/11 Saudi papers being released?

The military wanted to restore secular government.

The Satanic animals (backed by Satan) won the day.

And the world grows darker and races to the Tribulation.

When you coup against an Islamist, you had better win.

Now Turkey is officially lost. There will not be another one of these ever again.

If I recall, sometime around 1905 there was a revolt against the Czar of Russia. As the rebels rushed the palace a soldier told the czar, either you order us to fire or you abdicate. The Czar ordered them to fire and the revolt was put down. From the pictures it appears somebody wanted a bloodless coup. That wasn’t going to happen in Turkey. You either fire into the crowds rushing your tanks or you surrender.

There was a coup alright, but it was ordered by Erdogan. This is his “Reichstag Fire.”

That is what i am beginning to think, didn’t he bomb parliament during the chaos?

Ye absolutely. These Turkish military personnel sacrificed their careers and lives to provide a distraction for Saudi Arabia. /sarcasm

Agreed. No military unit is going to attempt a coup unless they know they have the support of sufficient forces to succeed. They’re asking us to believe that this tiny group willingly engaged in a suicide mission with no hope of success. Smells like an islamist rat.

I’m still waiting on more evidence to emerge, but definitely can’t rule that scenario out.

re the images (thank you for posting):

The absence of any serious injury in the images - the absence of brutal beatings of those captured during the coup seems odd --- lending credence to those who suggest this was a faux coup designed by Erdogan to legitimize his purge of remaining political opposition.

Consider the following quote:

===>"Erdogan called the coup a "gift from God" because it will help Turkey clean out the military from the "members of this gang." The timing of the coup was "meaningful," because the military will start meetings in the beginning of August, and those who staged the coup were afraid of the decisions that would be made at those meetings, Erdogan said. This is not old Turkey," he said. "This is new Turkey."<===ABCNews

Those who led this coup better have hit the road long ago or they’re dead men walking. The purges will be horrific.

No. Kurdish political party issued statement during course of events effectively supporting Erdogan govt. I was watching for that, too.

Erdogan made statements after his return that his hotel in southwest Turkey where he was vacationing had been shelled. Twitter feeds from the area ast night denied that claim. If that hotel hasn’t been shelled, then I put the entire episode on Erdogan’s shoulders.
