We brought some travelers home from a Hilton in Cincinnati. I got rid of them using Diatomaceous Earth. Just sprinkle it around and on your bed. It gets in their exoskeleton and grinds them up. Harmless to us smooth skinned mouth breathers. :)

So, reading between the lines, the General Assistance administrator had been to a flop house with the Community, “Services” Director and the Cemetery Director and brought back bed bugs. Brings a whole new meaning to bringing your bag lunch sandwich to work.

Hartz had to take “kills lice” off their dog flea shampoo because people were using it to kill lice off their own heads. It did work fine but the officials just wouldn’t stand for it. Or maybe the RID company had lobbyists since after that the schools required students bring in a receipt for RID after they’d been sent home with lice. BTW, the ingredients in the dog shampoo remained the same.

At walmart.com, the price for RID runs from $10-18 depending on the lice combs included... or $4.65 per ounce Funny, showing directly under their RID products is Hartz flea shampoo for $3 or 16.5 cents per ounce. Follow the money! Yeah, RID has lobbyists.

Bedbugs are a formidable foe. DE is effective and safe. You can buy food grade DE that is pure white. DE is also used in stables to help with bugs and fleas. You can buy that type and use it in your flower beds and rid yourself of any crawlies that have an exoskeleton.

We are now very diligent in checking bedding in Hotels. Bedbugs favorite nesting is in the edge seams of mattresses and in box springs. When traveling this summer, we noticed hotels are now using the sealed coverings on the bedding. I have a severe reaction to the bites, so I am chief inspector!
