If you were to attend the RNC for the purpose of photographing/videoing this historic event, how would you go about it? Specifically, would you carry a concealed handgun under the shirt? What about an openly carried handgun in a shoulder holster with extra mags? Would you carry a long rifle? Would you not carry a firearm at all and just try to blend in and take pictures? Would you just not attend due to the volatile nature of this election season?
If shiite goes south I’ll sprint toward the sound of the screaming.
If you are schooled in photography (self schooled, formal schooling, etc) and have the right professional grade equipment, and the desire to chronicle history, yes, go.
Leave the firearms at home and hire the biggest, meanest friend you have that can take a punch and dish it out as well.
If you are concentrating on the scene or shot, you will have tunnel vision and will look like a target to the thugs, It is hard enough to watch your back and look through a viewfinder.
In the end it will be cheaper and safer to have some muscle with you, and you won’t have problems getting close (but not inside the secured areas) to those shots you want.
As mentioned above, if you are going into a situation where you think you need a gun, should you really put yourself in that situation?
You need to do your homework. At least you aren’t trying to bring a tennis ball in.
No guns in the ‘Secure Zone’
Licensed carry in the ‘Event Zone’
No tennis balls in either zone
See this liberal biased story for details:

Nice.
Thanks.
Only Trump supporters beyond that point. They’re making sure that we are unarmed.
Really, really bad advice. Licensed carry is permitted in the 'Event Zone' but pepper spray isn't. So if he wants to take pictures within the 1.7 square mile event zone, no pepper spray. If he wants to get the inside scoop on conditions inside a Cleveland jail cell, maybe he should consider the spray.
oh.
So can you take a tear gas gun?
The 2016 Republican National Convention is designated as a National Special Security Event (NSSE) given its high profile and size. Other National Special Security Events include presidential inaugurations, State of the Union speeches, the Super Bowl and even some NASCAR races.
With the NSSE designation, the Secret Service and other federal agencies will lead the effort to help ensure the safety and security of those participating in or otherwise attending the Convention as well as the community within which the event takes place. Part of this safety effort will likely include a security perimeter around Quicken Loans Arena which can only be accessed with a specific credential.
Only individuals with credentials/tickets will be allowed access to the Republican National Convention Complex (RNCC), which consists of the Quicken Loans Arena and Progressive Field, and the Huntington Convention Center, which will serve as the media center. Those individuals will be subject to a thorough security screening before entering and should allow additional time to access these facilities. No other individuals will be allowed access.
I don’t know what a ‘tear gas gun’ is. Water guns are banned. Aerosols are banned. Chemical irritants are banned. If that doesn’t cover it, then you can explain the differences to a judge.
Ok. I looked at the list.
There is a bright side to it. No matter what disguise Hillary tries to use there will be no hiding that mattress strapped to her back.
ot just throw it in the garbage before you walk through the gates. I can’t believe I’m deploying to Cleveland unarmed. I felt safer in Bosnia.
And? Do you have a really long lens, or do you have credentials?
Neither. The events that will inevitably be occurring outside of the arena are what I’m going to document.
I wouldn’t risk decent camera equipment among that bunch of bolsheviks and fascists. Most I’d take would be a pocket camera and a handful of small sd cards so I’d still have most of my pictures when the camera got stolen or broken (either by the protesters or the cops).
I don’t know what the minimum mugging fee is in Cleveland these days. When I lived there, it was $20. If you couldn’t give the mugger at least $20, he could shoot you, if you gave him $20 or more, he wasn’t supposed to shoot. Know the rules and play by them.
Kill Kill Kill Kill
Muslims are weapons.
I haven’t been at a riot since the 1993 Dallas Cowboys parade riot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jwX3ZqA-qE
I did watch the Occupy Los Angeles march on the Bank of America tower from a safe elevation. Cops showed excessive restraint.
