Vanity: Mistake not putting Newt as VP.

Posted on 07/14/2016 7:24:12 PM PDT by RevelationDavid

Watching Newt on Hannity...NOBODY is as wicked smart as Newt....!! He would keep the focus where it must be! He would DESTROY liberal arguments....

It was a mistake not putting him on the ticket...

I think so too....provided that there is no massive voter fraud. I’m not confident with the process at all.

“What do you THINK they do in DC? They work together and have agendas... Newt got MORE done in his reign than ALL the other speakers sense put together!”

Hate to break it to you, but he PISSED OFF a lot of CONSERVATIVES with that stunt, including FReepers. At the time, he wasn’t even in Congress...he was simply giving aid and comfort to Pelosi. If you’re cool with that, then fine...but don’t expect much support here.

You need to learn a bit more about him.

He doesn’t need to be on the ticket to do a great deal of good. He can still be invaluable in the campaign, and in the Trump administration Gingrich can be of more value in places other than VP.

I like Newt, but he's not what we need as a Veep.

Too much baggage which would give unwanted distraction and he looks like his beer gut has a beer gut. (Optics matter, more than I would like, but they matter.)

Newt or Joni Earnst.

Make Pence a Cabinet member if need be.

Sorry, but Trump pics Newt, and then guess what? Trump is right where Hillary is, waisting energy defending crap that went on in the 90s, its stupid and a waste... Newt is a poor choice for VP.

Certainly room for him in the administration/team somewhere, but VP isn’t the right spot.

Hillary is agains the ropes, the last thing Trump needs to do is add someone who like it or not, was nearly as divisive in his own way from the 90s, to his ticket.

Even so Newt can still campaign.

So what? Donald Trump was once pro-abortion and gave $100k to the Clinton Foundation. Everybody makes mistakes.

But the world is going to hell in a handbasket and you want to throw the smartest, most articulate, most bulldog, in-your-face conservative thinker and orator on the planet under the bus because a silly public service ad?

God, I swear, sometimes I think conservatives on here have a deathwish......

“Watching him on Hannity. Man, is he great, or what? I wished that he was the VP too. This man was great tonight.”

Newt at his finest for sure.

“By the way, Newt believes Newt is “awesome.””

And so do I. Newt was awesome on Hannity tonight.

Oh goodie, TRUMP'S potential VP pick wants to bring more terror loving Muslims to America so we can have our own version of Nice France's Bastille Day Muslim truck terrorist attacks right here in the USA!

After what has happened in Nice, France today; TRUMP WOULD BE A FOOL TO CHOOSE "SQUISHY, SOFT ON MUSLIM IMMIGRATION" Pence! And yes I am yelling, these worthless, evil Muslims want to KILL US, OUR FAMILIES AND DESTROY AMERICA!

The time for "playing nice" and trying to "get along" is over, they are at WAR with us and we need a STRONG Republican President and Vice Presidential candidates who are on the same page and willing to do whatever is necessary, no matter what to utterly destroy the Islamic terrorists, THEIR FAMILIES AND THEIR MUSLIM SYMPATHIZERS HERE IN THE United States AND ROUND THE WORLD! Newt is up to the task, Pablem Pence, who folded like a 10 cent kite on the Religious Freedom bill, when "push came to shove" is NOT!

Did anyone watch Don Jr on Hanniity who basically said, referring to Christie and Newt that there’ll be a place for them.

Newt is a free trade, NAFTA godfather, and amnesty pimp going back to 1986. Trump would be in a awkward position in having him as a VP. Especially since Trump is running against the GOP establishment for the past few decades.

Yes, I saw that. That’s been obvious for some time, Trump’s cabinet and top staff isn’t going to include a lot of surprises.

...and don’t get me wrong. If Trump hadn’t run, so Bush/Romney/Kasich had won the nomination, I’d be RIGHT NEXT TO YOU calling for Newt for VP. Of course I’d do that before jumping off the Verrazano.

That "accomplishment" tops them all, pal. The whole point of the majority was to halt Clintoon's agenda. From that moment on, even with a GOP majority, they have NEVER been in control of the agenda. The left has.

But, hey, Newtie can always continue serving as Nancy Pelosi's Cabana Boy, helping to elect "Conservatives" like Dede Scuzzyflavor and making patronizingly disgusting and unhelpful lectures to Whitey about how dey just don't understand Black folk. Talk about stuck on stupid.

Wouldn’t it be something if this massacre in France and Newt’s interview with Hannity cause Trump to change his mind on the VP.

He’s correct, religious tests are forbidden, and for good reason. In no time at all those kinds of powers would be turned on other religions, and for wholly different purposes.
What you can do is restrict immigration by nation and source, That’s why Trump has changed his stance. It simple wouldn’t hold up in any court. There is no point in passing a law that will be struck down. It’s honestly encouraging from the perspective Trump appears to be hoping to accomplish something, not just make a point.
