GOP OFFICE HOLDERS: If Trump is Kicked Out, we walk too, and YOU WILL LOSE (vanity)
07/12/2016 | BobL (self)

Posted on 07/12/2016 8:17:26 PM PDT by BobL

Given the rumors that are flying around about 'changing the rules' at the GOP convention so as to prevent Donald Trump from being the Republican nominee, I think some thought should be given to the potential collateral damage to the Republican Party's efforts in November.

First, I'll state the obvious - if Trump is denied his position on the ballot in 2016, I simply will not vote for president - and I suspect that holds for many, probably a majority of Trump supporters.

So Romney, Ryan, or whoever replaces him will simply have to find another pool of millions of voters to push them over the top, and I'll give them a hit - IT DOESN'T EXIST. The only pool of voters they'll find is the 10,000 or so GOP insiders that can't stand Trump crashing their little conclave. The millions of us that took the time and made the effort to go out and vote, we'll simply will NOT VOTE for this new candidate.

Now I assume the above is already obvious to the GOP Leaders, so it's time to add a bit more to the mix. Do not, for a minute, think that us Trump voters have some great love for the GOP. WE DO NOT. We've been asking for a candidate to secure our borders (and that includes terrorist immigration) for over a decade, and all we get are Open Borders types and back-room scheming to try to get Amnesty through - the same Amnesty that is even opposed by a (albeit slim) majority of Democrats. The only people 'extreme' on this issue are the ones (in both parties) that will not let go of this push.

So here's what happens if we do not see Trump on the ticket - you Republican SENATORS, CONGRESSMEN, and CANDIDATES are going down with him. We will not vote for a party that denies its own voters their choice of a candidate...THAT SIMPLE.

So you guys, if you want, can continue your scheming to try to figure out a way to keep Trump off the November ballot - but if you do, be prepared to LOSE YOUR SEATS too, and watch the GOP end up with as much power nationally as it now has in California...a fate deserving of them if they try this stunt.

And you cannot say you weren't warned, for this is YOUR WARNING.

“The retribution has to be more severe than that. What we do at the ballot box, or even IF we go to the ballot box at all means nothing to them.”

I would agree that it certainly means nothing to the GOPe.

But TRUST ME, ELECTED REPUBLICAN OFFICEHOLDERS do not want to be pushing resume’s after November, if they can avoid it. It is those people that can put an end to Romney’s sickness.

The GOPe doesn’t care about losing. They do care about maintaining their corrupt and lucrative system.

There are enough Trump loyalists on the floor to, ‘deal with’ nevertrump partisans. At one point tyranny is afoot and the Trump folk will feel they have nothing to lose. Romney is becoming Romulus Augustulus. Google him. We will not give in to the Visigoth Hillary.

The Hillary ads that I’ve seen are so laughable...Anyone who has the least bit of information about the last 4 years sees what a farce they are...

Something else to consider. Make sure of the loyalty in the electoral college if Trump pushes back the traitorous Mitt. He needs to be sure of those people as well. It would be rather dicey to have armed supporters outside where the electors cast votes in early December. Better to be sure of the electors going in. I am shocked at the thought of what I am saying. Borderline revolution.

If they overtly dump Trump, they will likely lose the Senate also, as 13 million votes go elsewhere or stay home.

They are defending 24 Senate seats and the Dems 10. A swing of as few as 5 could send McConnell to the back of the chamber while the Dems take control of the Senate.

Add to that a Hillary presidency and it will be the start of a disaster. Likely, in 2018, they will also lose the House. That would give Hillary a full Congress. She would make Obama’s first 2 years of a full Congress look like child’s play.

Add in upwards of 5 Supreme Court justices, and the Dems could control the government for decades.

All because a few dozen sour-grapes establish Republicans are bent out of shape because one of ‘theirs’ did not get the nomination through the primary process.

1. Nobody knows what most of the delegates are going to do, rule change(s) notwithstanding.

2. Threats are meaningless, the Status-Quo-Club thinks a Trump win is a worse loss than a Hillary win. Their goals have little in common with yours. In their minds they are in danger and have nothing to lose.

3. This leads me to hope both that they are right and that they lose big.

If they don’t nominate Trump, then we can consider a write-in candidate. I think FR could play a role in determining the candidate. Trump would be the obvious person to write in, but we can leave that until we see what happens at the convention.

If they force somebody other than Trump on us, it’s with the full knowledge that Hillary will be the next president, which means they are willfully giving their blessings to the destruction of the USA.

What about SCOTUS?

As "Rule-of-law" fades into irrelevance, so does the Supreme Court.

Groups of armed men will be the final arbiters on every issue.

Some of your assertions are wrong.

You are preaching to the choir. Tell this to the RNC.

If Trump loses there will be no more Republican Party left.
