When traveling I like to stay at Hyatt Regency hotels. Many of them have center courtyards with each floor having walkways that allow you to look down into the courtyard and the other side of the walkway opens into the rooms. I always walk right up against the wall, as far away from the open section as I can.

A couple weeks ago I was staying at the one in New Orleans (see below pic) assigned to a room on the 25th floor. I hated the elevator ride up because they have glass elevators.

Oh I love those glass elevators. USED to go downtown just to ride them!Glass elevators are the last thing you have to fear in downtown New Orleans. That said- flatlanders and cliffs are a bad mix. Too many people confuse reality and fantasy and fear nothing. Horrible way to go.

And see, I love those places and love heights. I love glass elevators and those safe ledges that allow those views. When I worked in a high rise in college, myself and a friend had a game we would play. We would sit in the rolling office chair and roll ourselves fast to the full length window to get a feel that we were about to go over the edge. It was such a thrill, but the one guy with fear of heights could not play. I love flying in little planes and one dream is to ever fly in a helicopter.

I have zero desire to drop or fall, I just like looking from up high.
