Two sentences stand out in this article:

1. The dog was identified as a candidate for euthanasia after a series of evaluations by the department’s staff and medical team, Burdo said.

2. Jewel Pfaffroth of Beau’s Bridge Club said it was a “miracle” that “a group [was] willing to take” Barbie.

This animal failed temperament evaluations meant to keep people safe. I find it appalling that this dog was released in the first place.

And, it has nothing to do with what type dog. It has to do with some starry-eyed animal rights person possibly deciding down the road this canine was “cured”, and adopting her out to some unsuspecting person who could potentially get mauled or worse.

This shelter puts down about 30 dogs a week or more. But it’s in the east bay... serving some of the worst cities in the bay area. So they are constantly full of dogs that people dump
