Nine blacks and three whites on the jury. Several black women recognized the assailant when they saw the video on TV and called the police to identify him.
People did the right thing here, so it’s not the time to be snarky.

Could be that this guy had done home invasions in the past where the victims were black. Which would explain 2 things: a.) why he was still on the street. Black on black crime is typically given a wrist-slap. And
b.) why several black people came forward to turn him in. Maybe they, or someone they knew, had been his victims.
I remember driving through a ghetto area with a white friend who was astonished to see burglar bars on virtually every window and door. My friend had never considered that blacks in a high crime neighborhood might want to protect themselves —and their property—from crime. He just assumed that, by being black, they were safe in their own neighborhood. He figured only people in upscale mostly white neighborhoods would need burglar bars.
