Been a tough year for the Summitt family; in April, her son was forced to resign as head coach at Louisiana Tech after admitting he had an affair with one of his players and got her pregnant.
At this point in her fight against that terrible disease, Coach Summitt probably doesn’t recognize friends and family and has no idea about her son’s misdeeds. Too bad he couldn’t be more like his mother. She ran a model program and there was never a hint of scandal around her teams.
I suppose each case is different - but I haven’t known it to progress quite that fast.
I suspect what might have happened is that she wandered off into a neighbor’s house or something. Possibly the police were called. Anyway, the family has asked for privacy.
I’ve known the above to happen long before the person doesn’t recognize family members at all.

Each case is different...the few cases I’ve known went longer than that.
