No, I don’t think any true Irish person would go for it at all. I think they would be happy to have their whole country back and independence if their economy will take it.
There are still a few Unionists (who want to rejoin the UK) in the Republic of Ireland. It seems they mostly belong to the Church of Ireland, a Protestant denomination that ecomprises about three percent of the population, and the few Orange Lodges (Protestant clubs) that remain in the country.
I think they would be happy to have their whole country back ....
