I swear she'd get ideas from them to bash me about stuff that didn't used to be a problem in our marriage, until one or more of her friends had whatever as an issue in their own marriages/relationships.

One of my sisters ruined her marriage that way. I've been fortunate in that my wife's circle of friends have mostly been in long-term, relatively happy marriages. No, my challenge was her mother, who used to try to meddle in our relationship. Things have been calm and peaceful since the ol' gal shrugged off her mortal coil.
