One of our friends and his wife decided to stop at Yosemite on their trip from Reno to Monterey a few weeks ago. He said it was sooooo crowded that they left as soon as they were able to get turned around. And I guess today the lyin’ king et al are going to disrupt it even further. Not to worry, the bill will be in the mail to us before long. Thanks a lot pal.

Yosemite is super busy. If you want reservations they say book them a year out. They don’t need any attention from the Obamas.

I’m not a big fan of Yosemite. It’s usually too crowded. However, a couple of years ago I had been up in Nevada and decided to drive back through the eastern entrance to the park. It was in May, two days after the entrance opened. (It is usually closed all winter.)

In my life I have never seen anything as spectacular!!! The winter snow was melting. There were waterfalls everywhere, even over the road. There were even rainbows.

I have since heard that late May is the best time to take that trip, especially right after the road opens. You’ve never seen anything like it.

I don’t think driving a big RV would be enjoyable. The road is very winding and narrow and there is a narrow tunnel. Not for the faint of heart.
