Hispanics make up 39 percent of the new cadet class, in a department that is 27 percent Hispanic, while Asian and Pacific Islanders make up 21.9 percent of the new cadets, or triple the percentage of current officers of that ethnicity.
The percentage of black cadets is 16.4 percent, slightly above department demographics, despite efforts by Mayor Bill de Blasio to increase the force’s African-American makeup to 23 percent from the current level of 15 percent.
The percentage of whites is 19.8 percent, with the force at 50 percent.

I have read all the correspondence between you two and have come to the conclusion that there is no difference on who is an American and what it takes to be an American. U.S. Is 63% white non-Hispanic. Most U.S. Hispanics are mestizo or mulatto (genes always trump self-identification).

Right..I was trying to say that without sounding...well you know what I mean.
Minorities in FD and PD are fairly new when you figure that a lot of White FD & PD go back 3 or so generations, when the sons(now daughters) follow in the parents ‘business’.
Inre the Baltimore case- I was trying to say that the Minorities that qualified for the original case probably wouldn’t have hung around because they didn’t have the ‘tie to the job’ that the White applicants had, and when the class finally formed basically all that were left or still interested were those with ties.
And the pols are the ones that claim they are ‘civil servants’ or ‘dedicate their life to the Public service and Safety’......
