I think it’s a “Girl Power” issue and that what they’re doing is an abuse of the empowerment they think feminism brings to them.
I really don’t see feminism feeding this. I’ve known a lot of them (feminists) over the years and unless there has been a radical change this isn’t their sort of issue.
I suspect it’s more a cultural issue. People tend to believe that latino culture is heavily Catholic but in reality there’s a whole lot of sexual looseness as well. I think this is just hedonism plus opportunity. Probably a physically mature kid for his age and a teacher who found him attractive. She’s used to doing exactly what she wants and little things like social mores are insignificant. Until she got caught.
