Owwww. One of the suspects MAY have had a HIGH POWER AR-15. Instead of the more typical low or medium powered kind. I really don’t like these people. Prayers up the the deceased and wounded who were maybe innocent. But, remember, if more than 4 people are involved, it’t a MASS SHOOTING ! Stand by for the lyin’ king to make an appearance. Or at least a statement.

This is about two miles from my house. I used to live very near there, mainly upper middle class mostly white neighborhood. Shooting was near Memorial Dive and Wilcrest.

More evidence that my impending move to Houston is more dangerous than I thought. I’ve seen other articles of violence like this over there just recently.

I may need to be ready for sucker punches (knock out games) and random acts of violence.

The occurrence of violent crime in Houston, TX is 144% higher than the average rate of crime in Texas and 171% higher than the rest of the nation. Similarly, crime involving property stands 55% higher than the remainder of the state of Texas and 81% higher than the nation’s average.

Do the right thing, play it safe, and stay out.

Yes, I was just going to say this. Very nice part of town, not an area where thugs hang out and shoot each other. In an earlier announcement they said that the shooters were Hispanic.

See my post #9. Houston has some bad parts of town but this isn’t one of them. You should worry more about flooding than crime in the nicer neighborhoods.

Houston is huge BTW, something like 80 miles from one side to the other, I have been told.

There is a mini-storage behind the TJMaxx, I think it was there, likely drug related from the sounds of it. Memorial Drive Methodist Church owns the strip shopping center in front on Memorial Drive.

Naa, plenty of VERY NICE AREAS that are safe in Houston. This area is nice too, but it is very close to downtown and it is very rare for something like that to happen.

And besides, defending yourself to the point of extermination of the perp, even for a property crimes, is protected against both criminal and civil proceedings.

Is it better to be shot by a rare bullet than an not rare one.

My daughter lives not far from that corner. She left her house this morning and encountered this mess.

“You should worry more about flooding than crime in the nicer neighborhoods.”

I don’t find that completely reassuring, given that the savages can steal a car and be in any neighborhood very quickly.
