If it’s the official state sandwich, I guess the state is going to start demanding royalties on each sale.

Love this stuff.
Can even buy it at a Fresh Market in East Tennessee.
My mother always called it Pork Roll.

It’s a NJ lawmaker. Trenton doesn’t waste a single opportunity to waste public funds. (Even the ARC rail tunnel cancellation was just an excuse to redirect/redistribute at certain levels.)

Pork roll is the appropriate name.

Taylor is the brand name, and it’s not “ham”...

The Taylor ham or pork roll debate drew national attention this month when President Barack Obama gave the commencement address at Rutgers University. Obama jokingly told the crowd that he had come to New Jersey to settle the dispute. But he eventually decided the best position was to stay neutral. …

Must be a NJ thing and Fresh Market is catering to former NJ residents, because I’ve never heard of either one here in NC, where Fresh Market is headquartered.

What we need is a way to keep Taylor in the name, and yet still identify it as a ham product...

I’ve got it!

My husband’s from Central Jersey. He says Taylor is a brand of pork roll. But there are other brands, so some restaurants will distinguish that it is Taylor pork roll by calling it ‘Taylor ham’.

But....it’s pork roll!

Pork Roll.

Nothing better than a pork roll, egg & cheese sandwich :-).

When we were growing up my Uncle (from PA) always called it Taylor Ham, however, so it’s gone by both names my whole life.

Pork roll is the correct term, as is “hoagie” for the elongated sandwich, and “soda” for fizzy soft drinks.
