On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
How can a practicing homosexual take that oath in good conscience?
Of course one could I suppose be lying to themselves and say that God made them that way so it must be Okay.
My son quit scouts for that very reason. His words were “how can you be morally straight and be gay? I think it is time for me to quit” it was sad he really was a good scout and well on his way to eagle. We had issues with this district and the handling of a scout masters “inappropriate” behavior. We did not see it getting any better.
