If you are going into the woods you need to have some basic skills, at least to signal with.

I’ve hunted Alaska, Canada and most states along the Rockies and some how managed not to get lost. Maybe because I was prepared and I knew they would always find me if I did. I’ll set a mountain on fire if need be!

Yep, agree.I’m not what I woul call an experienced hiker but I am an experienced hunter. Back in the day I would sometimes hunt over in New Mexico on BLM land and Lincoln National Forest; a remote area for sure. I always carried a compass, area topo map, skinning knife, Bic, a couple of power bars, pancho, and TOILET PAPER, LOL!

Or a good $200 rescue beacon that doesn't need a cell phone tower.
