When they hunt in packs, yes they can be dangerous to a full-grown man. In 77 I was trapping in Kramer, LA. I got a weird feeling, and about 10 coydogs were tracking me. I shot the alpha-male in the rump with my 22lr, and they ran off. The other coydogs killed the alpha male, and ate him.

These animals are not stupid, when one of the females is in heat she will run through a neighborhood to lure male dogs into the woods where the pack would attack and eat him.

The documentary I saw said coywolfs attack in pairs and not in packs.

Saw my first coydog last week. It was huge and was trying to lure the neighbors dog to attack it. The rest of the pack was hiding in the bushes.
