I go back and forth as to who was better, Ox or Chris Squire.

Squire had more opportunities to play "lead bassist" on Yes tracks than Entwistle did on Who tracks, and he was certainly more melodic, but I'll take Thunderfingers by a nose. I'm glad I got the opportunity to see his bass work on 5:15 and The Real Me live in concert.

Another bassist I really like is Colin Moulding of XTC. The bassline on “The Mayor of Simpleton” really makes the song.
