LONDON (AP) -- Oscar-winning actress and activist Angelina Jolie has been appointed a visiting professor at one of Britain's most prestigious universities.
The London School of Economics announced Monday that Jolie will be working with students studying for a master's degree in Women, Peace and Security.

I’m just glad it isn’t going on in a university here, on our dime-we already have enough pointless basket weaving and environmental studies degrees being handed out to people who will never be able to use them to get a job and pay back their student debt...

Angie is a pretty smart cookie. I agree that the vast majority of actors are blithering twits. She isn’t. She’s chosen causes, given her money and time to those causes. Has adopted many children that would have probably died or lived a miserable existence otherwise.
I read an article where she said, of the money she makes, she spends one third, invested one third, and gives away one third.
Oh, and she chose, because testing said she was highly susceptible to breast cancer, to have a double mastectomy.
Pretty ballsy if you ask me.

A degree in What?!!?!?! ( how to attend a very respected college and select a diploma which won’t even get you a taxi- driving job ). What a waste of an educational opportunity

Sounds like this will be right up her alley. Taking her worldview of helping others into the class room to help teach others how to help.
A quick look shows a lot of community development in Third World Countries, etc. Bringing out the various things in wars (such as rape as a weapon), etc. Also some group with regard to providing legal help to “immigrants” in the USA. I didn’t search too far - but I imagine that includes illegals.
So she’s right sometimes, and wrong others. It’s her money and it sounds like she has a heart for it.
Insanity, of course, but probably resume building so this one can run for office.
