Deadline brings word that Creed star Tessa Thompson is set to join Thor: Ragnarok as both a female hero in the film and Chris Hemsworths love interest. You might be thinking that Thor already has a love interest in the MCU in Natalie Portmans Dr. Jane Foster, but THR takes it a step further and reveals Portman will not be returning for the film.
Ironically, Thompson is set to star in the Alex Garland film Annihilation with Portman before starring in the Marvel film. Thompson is also a series regular on HBOs upcoming Westworld with the Allfather himself, Anthony Hopkins.
Its unclear which hero Thompson will play in the film, but some potential characters include Valkyrie or perhaps the sometimes-good, sometimes-bad Amora the Enchantress.

Thor's New Love Interest was a star of the film- "Dear White People." I was really looking forward to Thor 3.
Behind the scenes bitching where all da black folk in deez supa hero movies
Read somewhere else that she is playing Valkyrie. I hope they have someone with blond hair, blue eyes playing Anansi the African Spider God.
Guess who’s coming to Asgard.
The picture of her at the link shows a Thor worthy lovely lady that (too) many FReepers would be saying “I’d Hit It” over.
Portman was AWFUL. No chemistry. Not even remotely believable. Maybe some glasses would have helped.
Kinda surprised they didn't try to make it John Barrowman.
.
Natalie looks excited to see Hillary.
Did someone mention Doctor Who??
She is quite stunning. This does not help when she opens her mouth. Not every actress can perform well in an action film. She surely does not. I do hope this casting helps the film to have some kind of chemistry.
Much hotter than Portman.
Paging Laz
I hope she gets rid of that ugly do.
Neither.
