PRECISELY. It’s not like Trump needs the money - or has to win. But he does have to continue to show himself as a fighter, and suing does do that.
All he really needs is enough to get through the first hurdle, which means no summary dismissal. At that point the final results won’t even matter, since it will be after the election.
