Five Killed, 13 Hurt In Chicago Weekend Shootings

CHICAGO (CBS) — Five people were killed and at least 13 others have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday evening, according to police.
The latest shooting left two people dead in the outbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway early Sunday on the Northwest Side.
Crews responded about 4 a.m. to Interstate 90/94 near Armitage, where a Chevrolet Tahoe was stopped with the male driver and female passenger dead at the scene with gunshot wounds to the head, according to Illinois State Police. Their ages were unknown.

In the last month or so I’ve noticed more of these shootings are on the expressways and tollways rather than side streets.

count looks low, was it raining??? Rained Friday, into Friday evening and Saturday morning. Saturday was rather brisk, Sunday (today) was pretty chilly for mid-May. Never got out of the upper 40's/low 50's around the City.
That's likely why the shootings were down this weekend... gangbangers don't like the cold.

My husband and I are on a road trip and passed through the area in the afternoon. I have to say that Chicago and it’s surroundings are utter sh*t. It also left our wallets $40.00 lighter. The tolls were ridiculous.
