I was deeply offended by the priest and the congregation being killed by poison Communion wafers. As Catholics, we are taught that after the priest consecrates the host, it is the body of Christ. Therefore, the wafers could not harm those people. Please, I’m not trying to open up a religious discussion here, and I’m sure there will be those who will disagree with me, but I see this as either ignorance of the Catholic Church, or a deliberate diss of the Church.
Turning it into the body of Christ is not magic which prevents poison from harming people. My theological guess is that the consecration miracle actually didn't occur due to the presence of the poison.
