Until 3 weeks ago Target was my primary store for non-food stuffs. It is ony 3 miles away, probably 8 miles closer than the WalMart. Both have identical prices on the things I buy on a regular basis.
At 1st I didnt think I could boycott TGT, but realized there was a closer Kmart I had forgot about. LOL after trying Kmart I remembered why I forgot about it.
Here’s how I boycott Target...I wait til I have a good size list, then I go to Walmart and buy everything I need. xtra for the stuff I would normally make mid month trip to target. If I really need just 1 thing that TGT easily has the best price then I go to TGT.
They must have noticed I do not go there as much...In the mail I have gotten a 5% off coupon, for everything I buy in 1 day. I was given a $5 coupon at the checkout last time I was there. It can be used for anything.
The more I see the impact of the boycott on the stock, the more determined I am to stay away
I still can’t believe the number of companies that have a C-Level social responsibility positions
Sickening.
“Im betting the fault lies with some particularly infouential exec at Target who is a sodomist.”
I heard the CEO of Target on the radio today. Just listening to him talk, made my skin crawl. Dude sounded like a cross between a homo and a metrosexual pajama boy.
“I smell a shareholder derivative lawsuit...”
And all to accommodate .003 percent of the population.
Idiots.
Stock price won’t back them dow, have to hit th bottom line. Need a quarterly report showing them underperforming their sector before any chance they are going yield on their insanity.
The policy was put in place with only a few weeks left in the last quarter so unlikely you’ll see anything last quarter. So won’t be until August that they can no longer deny an impact publicly if their is one.
“I cant boycott them because I already dont shop at a Target.”
Same here. We live right between a huge Target store and a Wal-Mart. Guess which one gets my family’s business?
Thank you for posting this link, I just used it to finally sign on to the boycott.
I used to go to Target for the popcorn, but not anymore.
They are reporting may 18th. May be too soon to show effect. The past month their stock has done worse than Walmart but better than Macy’s who’s been clobbered.
It’ll be interesting to see what kind of guidance they give. Anecdotal evidence points to significantly lower traffic.
I’m thinking of buying some may20 puts just before earnings report, or a bear put spread. I got a feeling their guidance won’t be too rosy.
target can die
The number has gone up quite a bit since I signed it.

“Target Corporation: Can TGT Stock Move Past Bathroom Policy?
Maybe not. Here’s Targets real problem: people are creatures of habit, particularly when it comes to their shopping habits. When shoppers veer out of their comfortable ruts (regardless of reason) and try news stores and/or shopping methods, they frequently find they like the new ways as good as, and often better than, the old ways, and almost never go back to the old ways.
There are simply too many shopping options these days to pointlessly risk losing long-time customers, because a customer lost is usually a customer lost permanently.
So TGT is the stock ticker for Target.
TGT now stands for trans gender tyrants.
Target HQ is the house of freaks in Downtown Minneapolis.
I am not ever ever going to go into a Target store again.
By the way, is there a competitor for Amazon? I’ve had it with BEEEEZZZZOOO the bozo.
I doubt guidance will be rosy because the sector is tanking. Global slowdown and all. As I said until you see a quarterly where target underperforms the sector not likely to be any real likelihood things will change.
I agree. It will take several quarters of bleeding for them to throw in the towel and even then they may blame it on something else. Like when JC Pennys went gay and lost a lot of business, they never acknowledged that that policy shift was part of the problem, though they canned the CEO that implemented it.
But I bet that internally they are pretty aware whether it’s a problem. And the fact that he CEO just met with the head of the AFA, the originator of the boycott petition, means that they believe that it is having an impact and are looking at a way out. But now they’re caught between a rock and a hard place.
Good thought!!
The one in D'Iberville, MS hasn't gotten the message. Was waiting on my car to be serviced and it was raining so I 'took a walk" through Target to waste time and use the restroom (before this latest ... ;-) ...) because I opted not to shop there a long time ago. Had my weapon on my hip under my shirt and looked for a sign w/o finding one.
