...losing conservatives from the forum isn’t a cause for celebration, or gloating, or otherwise acting like 10 year olds on a playground. we’re going to need these guys in the general, and we’re giving them every reason in the world to sit this one out.

How do you know this to be true? Once someone has left or been zotted, unless one reads every single post on all FR threads, it isn't always apparent what their beef was with us.

A good many that have left/been suspended or banned were intolerant of other FR posters themselves.

So, specifically, for what should remaining FReepers feel the guilt you ascribe to us?

I know it to be true because they generally explain why they’re leaving, and even when they don’t, it’s a pretty simple matter to figure out.

these aren’t liberals that no longer feel welcome among us, they’re bona fide conservatives, many of long standing. my simple admonition to perhaps restrain ourselves from cackling over their bodies after they are dead simply isn’t unreasonable.
