Had the Republicans done what we hired them to do (think mid-terms when they promised to fight jugears on jugearscare and we re-elected them), they wouldn't have to worry about Trump.

Back when I ran my own business, any employee who continually offered me excuse after limp excuse as to why they just plain couldn't do what they were being paid good money for was routinely replaced by some hungrier, more conscientious employee willing and able to do precisely that. Long, LONG past time to start routinely treating politicians precisely the same way!

Absolutely. A few congressional elections ago, the republicans running for office vowed to build a border fence...remember? We voted, the house swung over republican and they reneged on their promise. They chose to vote down funding for the hundreds of miles of fence they'd promised.
Again, increased the republican lead in the house and gave them the senate on the hopes they'd stop Obozo’s agenda as promised...again, they gave us a big ol goose egg.
We now have placed Trump upon the national stage as a vehicle of our anger. This IS a civil, civil war.
