Reminds me of the time I did business with an inbred cashier who didn’t know what dollar coins were.

Ah, the old counterfeit pen fail test. Well then, I can see why the officer had to treat this as a serious crime, obviously perpetrated by this young man. Was this by any chance, officer Obie?

I believe it. Years ago I went through a phase of using $2 bills and dollar coins just to help circulate them. I was amazed at the number of clerks who did not know it was American money and refused to accept them.

Pretty much everyone involved in this event needs to be fired and jailed, with the exception of the little girl, of course.

The absence of consequences for ignorance is what led to this ridiculous state of affairs.

I have had a $2 bill tucked away in my wallet for 20 years, kind of a good luck thingy.

Joan Rivers once said she wouldn’t put Susan B. Anthony in her pocket with George Washington because it would turn him gay.

The bill so old, dating back to 1953, the school’s counterfeit pen didn’t work on it. I guess most of the commenters didn’t bother to read the article. I admit I stopped reading when it started that minority student crapola.

Joan was one in a million! Sometimes, I think Donald Trump is her male equivalent today, the way he talks to his audience and works the room.

Obviously a severe overreaction.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

My kids all got a series of $2 bills from their grandfather when they were young...c 1965.

Those particular bills could be worth more than the $2 face value. The $2 bill went away in 1963, and didn't re-emerge until 1976. Your kids' bills are United States Notes, and bear Monticello on the back, rather than the Signing of the Declaration of Independence. Here's a reference on their potential value: http://www.uscurrencyauctions.com/$2-us-currency-value-price-guide.htm

An Illinois nudist camp requested their visitors use only two dollar bills in the local town to prove how much the camp contributed to the local economy.

The camp is now a valued asset to the community.

Sounds like the story about a base commander having all personnel paid in $2 bills to prove to the local mayor just how much the economy in his town relied upon the base.

I guess he always bought in to the phony as a two dollar bill quip.

Never heard that using the $2 bill. It was always "Queer as a three-dollar-bill" that people used back in the day. Back when queer just meant weird, not homo.

Yep, I was corrected already. But I have heard some say it about the 2.oo bill as well.
