community college for two years. A lot of times, if you get through two years of CC (in the honors program) universities will line up to offer aid to finish up there.

Not the ideal solution but that’s what we’re faced with nowadays.

Whatever you do, don’t go into debt.

CC looks horrible on a resume. So much so, I will not recommend it to anyone interested in a STEM career. It will be challenged by the hiring managers.

Agreed. My last one of 3 has been out of college for 5 years and I'm still paying. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I did not go to college.

Community college for two years?

I did more like 5 and transferred with the maximum units allowed by my state, which was 80.

In that era I also worked full time and did part-time semesters too in order to work more and pay my bills.

SFSU did not make me a homo, and College of San Mateo did not make me a...whatever.

And the diploma for the Bachelor’s won’t have an asterisk with community college for the first two years on it. It will state the name of the university and the fact that the student met the requirements of earning the diploma.
