Student activists are calling on universities to install sanitary towel bins in men’s toilets so that biologically female transgender students who use them do not face discrimination.
The Mail on Sunday has found that equality rights campaigners at three leading universities have called for the changes – resulting in family groups branding the move ‘madness’.
They include Southampton Student Union, which has drawn up a ‘Trans Inclusion Policy’, in which ‘trans’ is defined as a ‘wide umbrella term, covering those who transcend traditional boundaries of gender and sex, those who are gender variant, and those whose gender identity does not match their assigned gender’.
It says the majority of ‘negative experiences’ among trans students was caused by single-sex toilets and changing rooms.
It says: ‘All suggestions for improvement included either increasing the number of gender neutral toilets available, or adding sanitary bins to male toilets for men who menstruate.’

I think I remember this from a long-ago anthropology class. The men were jealous of the powerful magic that women could wield with their menstrual blood so the devised a way of creating their own. Without going into the gruesome details it involved jungle surgery on one’s wedding tackle. The wound thus created could then be opened up at monthly intervals and providing the man with powerful menstral juju of his own. Probably made him grumpy too.

There are lots of ways to make a pretty good living in a skilled trade, particularly if your ultimate goal is to have others eventually working for you at your own company.
It’s not all that easy to make good money in a non-STEM track these days. I’m not even sure if my employer considers non-business majors much for even clerical positions. Unless your background has a technical or other specialization, it’s not that easy to make money from foreign language skills (although it helps). That, too, is “outsourced” and “offshored”.
I have a BA and no one in their right mind would hire me today, even entry level for what I do, if I didn’t have the ~40 years experience in computing and programming to go with it.

I think that’s because it involves that “blue stuff” that they always show on TV. I asked my wife where the blue stuff comes from; she didn’t know and no blue stuff has ever leaked from anything of hers. So, this is a mystery.
