Always liked Petula Clark. There’s a sameness to some of her songs, most of which were often written by the same guy, but I loved the sound of a Pet Clark song.

Fifty-two years ago, when women could actually sing, as opposed to now, when they (most of them) screech and scream. Or as opposed to Adele and Leona Lewis and Lady Gaga, who can actually sing.

Should Beyonce be classified as a singer? Maybe an entertainer, if you like that sort of thing, whatever it is she is doing.
