In the future robots will do the repetitive work and men and women can focus on more creative careers.

Like what? Growing pot? Manufacturing's NOT coming back. Anyone who thinks it can and will is delusional.

You sound like Obama bitching about ATMs. The modern American home is filled with things that eliminated jobs in the past yet there are still jobs. We no longer have to pay people to take out chamberpots or haul water to our house. The iceman no longer brings ice because, by God, my fridge makes it for me!

I’m not saying there won’t be pain or job losses. There will be big disruptions but there will eventually be plenty of work for everybody, they will just doing different things.

I know a lot of people that are making a lot of money growing pot. They been saying that the computer will be putting people out of work since the day they came out but there’s a lot of people making a good living and working on computers. In fact IT professionals were making such a good living that our treacherous government decided to bring in foreigners to knock them down a peg. They must have been getting too lippy. Time for payback now.

Then the country will die.

Alexander Hamilton may have had a bent for centralization, but one thing he was on the mark about was that any truly independent nation needs “to possess within itself all the essentials of national supply; these comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and defense”.
