The University is sinking under the weight of its own liberalism. People are fed up with this coddling of college age babies.
Just wait till they leave college and feel the shock of the real world. No participation trophies or safe spaces there. No one will sooth their spoiled self pity. Its a world full of aggressions, micro and macro. They will crumble quickly.
If this strong a response had been taken to U.C. Berkeley’s shenanigans in the 1960s, it might be the country’s top university today instead of a wannabe in back of Stanford, Harvard, etc.
Wonder if other institutions of higher learning are taking note of this backlash.

Sadly, I know a coach who is a good person who made an honest mistake in accepting a job, not knowing the dynamics of this institution. You can’t cave and have any chance of a good outcome. Athletes striking is absurd and the hurt will be felt for a long time...they should have been sent home immediately..

If it hasn't already happened, Mizzou will soon join the likes of UC Santa Cruz and Evergreen College (WA) whose former student's resumes are simply tossed in the trash by HR managers wishing to avoid the financial turmoil and workplace mayhem that comes with hiring a potentially toxic employee.
I’m almost sad that I never donated to my alma mater’s alumni fund in the past. Declaring that I will never contribute in the future would carry a lot more weight if I was actually a donor previously. Oh well, I always said you have to wonder about any college that would give me a degree . . .

It takes a lot of gall for a bunch of losers to threaten to quit in a huff.
The players should have been kicked off the team for lack of performance.
I personally would have hung my head in shame and been happy to keep my scholarship if I were on the team but not these entitled malcontents.
If I were the coach, I Would have shown the players that black actions have consequences and they would be trying to figure out how to pay their tuition and what to do with the Saturdays.
