I recently got free subscriptions to “Car and Driver” and “Motor Trend”. It has been so long since I kept up with what we used to call “muscle cars” that I was not prepared for the incredible horsepower of newer cars.
The part that is even more surprising is how small some of the engines are. I think just about all the super cars now have turbos or superchargers.
I have a normally aspirated 370Z with 350HP that weighs not much more than 3,000 lbs. A non-turbo 3.7 liter that runs like a booger. Much faster than this old guy wants to run but it really is a kick in the ass.
