All it does is force trans men and women to use bathrooms based on the sex that they were born in, considering that many trans men and women simply look like regular men and women, it does the opposite of the intended effect. It gives the pretext for straight perverted men to pretend to be transgender to enter women's bathrooms while dressing normally. They don't even need to wear a dress to enter the bathroom, they can just look like normal straight men and enter (because many trans men simply look like men) do you realize how ridiculous this law is and why for hundreds of years a law like this never existed?

You are spot on, The homosexual marriage pitch started out with cute little lesbians. Once in full swing we got the big hairy bulls kissing at the altar.
The Trans movement starts with petite little homosexuals in dresses. Keep in mind no one is talking about manner of dress only about how they identify. As long as a dude identifies as a female he can use the female accommodations. We can get big hairy guys with beards and no dress walking into the ladies room and there won’t be anything you can say about it. Women wear pants these days.
We have gone from homosexuals being born that way, to people can be born bisexual and now people can pretend they are anything they want and Mr. Trump is OK with that.
Women, use the womens bathroom. Stay out of the mens bathroom.
Men, use the mens bathroom. Stay out of the womens bathroom.

It is not counterproductive, because it is not just bathrooms.
Most “transgenders” are men (over 80%).
Fewer than a quarter have the male plumbing remove (less than a quarter).
So most of these transgender cases are mentally ill men WITH THE MALE ORGANS.
You talk about just letting them use the stall in the bathroom.
When they are allowed into women’s spaces, it is every other women’s space too, including:
* women’s locker rooms
* women’s changing rooms in stores and venues
* women’s cabins / sleeping areas
* women’s saunas
* women’s swim time in places where it is segregated
* women’s showers
So when you let him into the bathroom, you also let a mentally ill man walk naked through the women’s showers and changing rooms. And the Department of Justice has already backed that view in the case of the insane boy who wants to change with the girls in the girls’ locker room and sued over the order that he change in a curtained stall; to be a girl, he had to be able to be naked where they could see his penis and he could see them undressed. The DoJ threatened to take away federal school funding from a school district for trying to protect girl’s privacy, of an unwanted boy seeing them undressed and them seeing him undressed, and LOST.
So no, it is NOT just the bathroom, big deal. It is men in the showers, saunas, shelters, etc.

I think they should take “gender” out of it completely. I don’t care if you identify as a can of WD-40, if you are a can of WD-40 with a penis you use the “penis” room, and if not you use the “no penis” room. I can’t wait to see the new signs on the doors.

One would hope if would be that simple, but confirming that someone who walks into the women’s bathroom does or does not have a penis is problematic.
As a business owner or manager, you cannot force person who walks into the women’s bathroom to prove that they do not have a penis.
However, if you are a person without a penis using the no-penis facilities, and another person displays a penis, you can scream bloody murder and clobber him with your purse.
It’s not about transmen, I don’t care if a biological female that looks like a man is in the ladies room. I care that biological males not be allowed in my private spaces and I don’t care how the are dressed or what kind of special snowflake they think they are.
No penises in women’s private spaces, period.

And how are you supposed to enforce that when you get predators pretending to be transmen, considering transmen who look like men and wear normal clothing? They won’t even have to dress up like women, they can just wear normal clothing.
Well, that’s not what the law states, the law states it applies to both sexes. Otherwise. it would be hard to hold up in court, even amongst conservative judges, the Civil Rights Act explicitly states no discrimination based on sex.

This is a valid point. We want to be able legally, distinguish perverts pretending to be transgendered from people who are serious about crossing over. The law might say that a person’s genetic sex is a “refutable presumption.” This would mean that persons who have indeed crossed over, and wouldn’t be noticed anyway, would be legally protected; and, that we would be able to protect children from perverts.
It feels like it does anyway.

Too many people pipe up about the “bathroom law”, and don’t have a clue what the Charlotte law was about (actually, the updated Charlotte non-discrimination ordinance).
This is the recently updated Charlotte anti-discrimination ordinance that was overridden by NC HB2:
“It shall be unlawful to deny any person the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations of a place of public accommodation because of race, color, religion, sex, familial status, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or national origin.”
It’s a LOT more than the bathroom.

It is Trump who is being counterproductive:
Just to be clear, the objective of the law is only secondarily to protect individuals in multi-occupancy facilities from indecent exposure to those of the opposite biological sex. The primary goal, IMHO, is to defend the right of individuals and entities of NC to continue making that biological distinction without being sued into oblivion for sexual discrimination that violates public accommodation law.
It is not desirable that such a law should have to exist in the first place, true. But it is a necessity under the circumstances. In terms of enforcement, the owner of a biologically specific restroom or changing facility would still be able to stop a man-dressed person from entering a female facility. In the uncertainty of the moment, the presumption of duty would be that the owner must look first to the safety of the biological females using the facility.
The problem, and the reason a law like HB2 is needed, is that the ultimate long-range objective of the “androgenists” is the total eradication of biological gender as a legally, morally, culturally valid form of discrimination. Take down the barricade of biological sex, make it unlawful discrimination under public accommodation law, and you will have no means of stopping any perverts of any persuasion or attire from being within two feet of your unclad sisters, daughters, and mothers.
Bottom line, Trump is being an ass on this issue, and honestly, the crazy justifications I’ve seen on this once-conservative forum in the desperate attempt to defend his rudderless triangulating on this issue make me just want to vomit.
