NYC Fire District Releases Statement About Donald Trump… Media Stunned
Conservative Tribune ^ | April 22, 2016 | Wilmot Proviso

Posted on 04/22/2016 6:05:14 PM PDT by bobsunshine

When Donald Trump spoke earlier this week in Buffalo, media critics lambasted him for allegedly confusing “9/11” with “7/11.” However, a theory emerged as to why Trump didn’t misspeak, one that the media refuses to acknowledge.

The controversy all began Monday, as Trump was speaking before a crowd in Buffalo on the day before the New York primary. During the speech, he touted his 9/11 activism.

“I wrote this out, and it’s very close to my heart,” Trump said to the audience. Because I was down there and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came own. And I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action.”

Donald Trump, who has made his advocacy for New York City after the 9/11 attacks central to his candidacy, accidentally referred to it on Monday as 7/11 — the ubiquitous convenience store,” CNN wrote with scarcely contained glee.

However, a new theory quickly emerged — the fact that he was actually talking about the Greenville Fire Department, a department in the New York town of Scarsdale that was one of the first to respond to the 9/11 attacks.

The station is known as 711 because of its address, 711 Central Park Ave. And as one Facebook user close to the situation pointed out, the firefighters there were quoted as “thanking Trump for his generous donations of time, services and goods, both for the firefighters and for the victims.” And keep in mind, the way Donald phrased things made it sound a lot more like he was talking about a location, not a date. His words were “our firemen down at 7/11,” not “our firemen on 7/11.”

I will admit that Cruz supporters are right for once in this case.

Glad to hear it. Rush had to have lost ratings as well.

Wilmot should have looked at a map before posting that stupid statement.

Baloney. You need to get out more and learn about the world.

You need to actually learn how to research. This story is hogwash.

I’ve wondered about Loony Levin’s ratings. I figured they had to be tanking.

I haven’t listened to him, or Rush, in months.

After YEARS of consistent listening.

Indeed you do.

This story is hogwash.

Indeed it is.

However, only idiots and liars will parrot the MSM's line on this!

It’s a damn shame. Like you, I’ve been a loyal listener to both Rush and Levin for years and years, but they’ve shown a side of themselves during this election that’s just too unpalatable for me to take.

In Levin’s case, I’m completely done as a listener. I haven’t quite gotten there with Rush, but he’s pushing it. The way he’s treated Trump supporters over the last couple of weeks is inexcusable, and it’s revealed a bias in him that’s surprising, to say the least. Suddenly, he looks like any other garden variety GOP hack, instead of the great El Rushbo. Who wants to listen to that?

I haven't been able to listen to Rush since late February. It just disturbed me too much. I have stopped at least until he finally comes to his senses. I will never quite fully trust him again.

He really did change then as a full time cheerleader for Cruz, and very stealthily dissed Trump (often dishonestly) every chance he got.

I remember him doing that against Newt in 2012, but it was only necessary for less than a week. Newt never recovered, it was the so called conservative media that was trashing Newt, then Rush piled on, and Newt wasn't strong enough to withstand the heat.

“Rush had to have lost ratings as well.”

Until lately, Rush has been a lot more subtle about his support for Cruz, but with the shift of momentum decidedly moving towards Trump, he’s dropped all pretense of objectivity, and is now openly showing his bias toward Cruz.

If his ratings aren’t showing a drop off yet, they will soon. Too many long-time listeners are complaining about this, for there to be no effect. I think he’s hurt himself, and so have dozens of formerly trusted pundits on the right.

“I haven’t been able to listen to Rush since late February. It just disturbed me too much. I have stopped at least until he finally comes to his senses. I will never quite fully trust him again.”

Rush has always been very savvy about Republican primaries. He’s famous for never choosing sides, or favoring one candidate over another, until the nominee is decided. I don’t know what possessed him to abandon that workable modus operandi in this primary, but he did - and it’s going to cost him. Dearly.

The loss of trust is the real biggie. Many of his Trump supporting listeners will never return, after his ill treatment of them these last couple of months. I doubt enough of us will tune out to kill his show, but I’ll bet it’ll be a measurable percentage.

Trump obviously said exactly what he meant to say, the article notwithstanding.

Google

Fire station 711 has existed since 1904. And it rose to fame on 9/11.

So, no need to "admit" anything. Just trash away!

Never listened to Levin......that irritating voice was a turn off.

Rush.....used to listen every day between 9a.m. and 10a.m. on my way to work.

Changed jobs and now only hear him occasionally. He does not seem to have the edge he used to have.

Hope that WHEN Trump becomes the nominee, Rush will use his talent to discredit the Hildabeast.

I don’t even know why it’s an issue. Wither he he misspoke or not why does anyone care? I probably say the wrong word 20 times a day and I don’t talk nearly as much as Trump. Cruz supporters attacks are always so petty, stupid, or outright lies.

Scary when you consider that Hank Johnson, as stupid as he is, passed a bar exam somewhere.

“He does not seem to have the edge he used to have.”

Well, none of us are what we once were, but I agree. Rush seems to be ‘phoning it in’ half the time these days.

I think he’s hit the twilight of his career.

I had to see it for myself.

I’m stunned. That is a weak word for what I feel.

IT reminds me of when I drove a cab for a little while and every now and then a member of the hood would try to prove his smarts by talking about politics or science etc.

After working with some very bright people in investment banks for 20 years, it would push me to thoughts of driving the cab off the Verrazano and taking my chances in the murky depths as long as I didn’t have to her this guy speak anymore.

I wanted to pull the cab over, turn around and say “you’re too @#$#$ing dumb to be in this car. Get out. Ho ride for you!”

It’s like they’re so desperate to prove they’re intelligent and they are like you when in fact they are pathetically ignorant to the point of it being painful.

How did that military guy keep a straight face.
