I second the motion for Taiyo Yuden. You may also want to look for a good-condition Plextor 716 or 760. 800 series is said to be good as well but I don’t have first-hand experience with them. 4x-8x burn speed. Laugh all you want, but jitter/error is practically nil. With Plex Tools software it’s mastering quality — true industry standard.

All drives make errors, but they are negligible. On audio CD’s, the few errors a drive might make are inaudible.
If you are that worried about accuracy, use burner software that has a Verify option.
Don't overspend on some idea that expensive is better - unless you have a business that requires lots of discs which is doubtful as you wouldn't be asking us at FR for advice.

Obviously, you want to accomplish your work as quickly as possible, but recording at a higher speed may result in more errors, depending on your equipment and quality of media.

I’m more focused on the hardware side - i.e. the quality of construction to allow the laser to read/write accurately without the micro-distortions of the mechanical interface.
In high-end audio, these distortions are avoided/minimized thru metal chassis & Mechanical Ground Path design, isolation from vibrations, metal (vs plastic) housings that hold the laser assembly more precisely, etc...
A friend is a highly acclaimed mastering engineer based in LA who has remastered many, many classic rock albums as well as jazz classics for LP, Gold CD and SACD.
At one time, he was offered the opportunity to remaster the Beatles catalogue. He has gifted me many, many CDRs sourced directly from the raw studio master tapes - from Sinatra to NKCole to Beatles to Stones to Peggy Lee....and so many more.
He recommended Taiyo Yuden esp since MAM-O is no longer produced in Japan.
Plextor was THE reference - alas, no longer available esp in an external USB drive.
